I'm just overcome with frustration about the situation and then overwhelming guilt for deciding to walk away. I think I'd rather remain in the same room (corner or not) in silence while calming down...otherwise, I start feeling abandoned, which isn't the case, but it in turn induces a fear I just can't explain.Jayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18040670158317646418noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2494448915909604761.post-32769567950042109492014-08-08T18:21:35.553-05:002014-08-08T18:21:35.553-05:00Corner time is one of those things I'm still k...Corner time is one of those things I'm still kind of 'meh' about. I have a bunch of little kids, so quiet time by myself is more like a luxury for me! :) We have incorporated a version that works for us, which is basically to just remove myself from an obviously escalating situation and sit in a chair (or on the bed) in our room to focus my attention inward and try to keep my growing agitation in check. I've agreed to strip down if he asked me to, because I think the added vulnerability would be useful, as I can get wound up pretty quickly and lose any sense of submission. But anything more than that (like being ordered to stand in the corner) would be difficult for me to take very seriously.Brat E. I can just imagine the look one would get if caught in the corner with a phone...not to mention the ensuing punishment (in addition to whatever got him/her in the corner in the first place). Should anyone try this, just remember I didn't give you the idea. (innocent smile) It most certainly would not be my fault! Just take a little tablet or your iPhone or perhaps a Kindle there with you. Keeps you entertained while you stand there feeling like a dummy. :-)Ericahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02230915556455020371noreply@blogger.com
